The Union Labour Ministry organised a ‘National Labour Conference’ in Tirupati, between August 25 and 26, which convened labour ministers and secretaries from states, on various issues of labour regulation and administration. The event is seen by some as a continuation of the tripartite ‘Indian Labour Conference’, held by the labour ministry every year until it was suspended in 2015, which invited stakeholders representing industry and labour interests.
